Interstellar Collection

This collection titled “Interstellar” calls for a more style-specific consumer. Someone who appreciates the mixture of bright bold colors and an array of experimental textures. This collection was made with experimental intention. I wanted to play with color, yarn, and application techniques to create a collection that acts as an art piece in itself.

Handwoven Wall Hanging Art

This wall-hanging art piece was handwoven on a tapestry loom. Many techniques were used including basketweave variation with thin tabby thread insertion, freeform overshot, warp painting, weft spacing, and more.

The artwork is 34 inches in length and 7 inches in width.

The knitted crop shirt is the second element to this collection. This piece was designed most likely for a teen between the ages of 14-20. It is made for someone who is very in tune with their own personal style, while still keeping in touch with trends from current 2020-2021 online fashion. Using APEX Knit Design software, I was able to create my own knit design structures and communicate online with the knitting lab at NC State Wilson College of Textiles to produce these fabrics shown below.
